It’s been a few months since Pepper Ann and Nicky started secretly dating. Pepper Ann is madly in love, but she knows that it’s not meant to last – someone as smart as Nicky deserves way better than an idiot like her.

The issue comes to a head when Coach Doogan, one of Hazelnut High School’s strictest teachers, catches them making out. Getting outed will mean total humiliation, awkward questions at home, and worse. Now, Pepper Ann has to stop Coach Doogan before she can tell anyone – and pray that this isn’t what convinces Nicky to leave her.

Takes place in 2002, during the Fall semester of Pepper Ann and Nicky's senior year of high school. Contains some period-accurate homophobia, light swearing, and lots of gay kissing.
